we're gearing up for the holiday season over here,

         cherishing the last of the warm weather, and spending as many hours photographing out of doors as we possibly can.

this is the time for family. this is the time for enjoying the moment. this is the time to slow down and breathe deeply.

chicago area family photography: the missing months of 2011

it literally has been forever since I've spent time sharing images from recent sessions.

     it's not because I've forgotten, but because I've been busy. really busy. and that's mostly really great news, except when it comes to things like blogs, and keeping up with posting work. or tweeting. or pinning. or sharing anything at all, for that matter.

anyway, it's a new year, and a new day. I plan to stay connected this time . . . we'll see how long that lasts.

in the mean time, here is a little sneak peek of all the fun that I've been hoarding.
     I plan to share more from each of these moments. and soon. so come back and visit whenever you get a chance. knowing you'll be here will be good motivation.

a late post, a reminder of warmth

on these cold, dreary days, when I'm dreaming of sunshine, it helps to look back
     at those late autumn days that felt almost like summer.


     it's a nice reminder that warmer days are on their way. summer will be here soon.

never too late for pumpkins

it's not even december 1, and already the pace of the season threatens to override my intentions to stay on top of the details.

though the harvest holidays are officially gone, these beautiful babes deserve to be mentioned. and the pumpkins, too.  they're just too wonderful a backdrop to abandon after Thanksgiving.

we're taking advantage of these late summer days.
 
the last glimpses of warmth before the cold sets in. the opportunity to enjoy crisp air, colorful leaves, and warm sunshine, unencumbered by down coats, winter hats, mittens.

sisters have a unique way of being in together and experiencing one another.  this is the energy we hope for. these are the moments we cherish.
